TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. The Promoter
1.1. The competition is being run by Otters Holt, Somerford Keynes, Cotswolds (hereinafter referred to as “The Promoter”), in partnership with Present Tense, which administers entries. Questions about the competition can be sent to hello@stayinpresenttense.co.uk.
1.2. The prize is provided by Otters Holt, Somerford Keynes, Cotswolds.
2. Eligibility
2.1. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over, except employees of the Promoter or Otters Holt and their close relatives.
2.2. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
3. The Competition
3.1. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
3.2. Entry is by completing the rest type quiz and submitting an email address on the landing page at [stayinpresenttense.co.uk/otters-holt]. Existing Present Tense subscribers may also enter by clicking the entry link in a Present Tense newsletter.
3.3. Only one entry will be accepted per person. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified.
3.4. The closing date for entry is 15th November 2026 at 11:59 PM. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
4. The Prize
4.1. The prize is a 2-night stay for up to 8 guests at Otters Holt, Somerford Keynes, Cotswolds.
4.2. The prize includes:
Accommodation for two nights.
Access to the Lower Mill Estate facilities (spa, pools), subject to Estate opening times and rules.
Use of the private hot tub and log burner.
4.3. Exclusions: The prize does not include travel to or from the property, food, drink, travel insurance, or personal expenses.
4.4. Dates and restrictions:
The prize is valid for mid-week stays only (check-in Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday).
Weekend stays (Friday and Saturday nights) are excluded.
The prize must be redeemed and the stay completed by 30th June 2027.
4.5. Blackout dates: The prize cannot be taken during UK Bank Holidays, Christmas, New Year, or peak summer weeks (July and August), unless agreed otherwise with Otters Holt.
4.6. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prize is not transferable.
4.7. Security deposit: The winner will be required to sign a rental agreement with Otters Holt and provide a pre-authorisation security deposit of £500.00 prior to arrival. This will be released after the stay, provided no damage is caused.
5. Winner Selection and Notification
5.1. The winner will be chosen at random from all valid entries received.
5.2. The winner will be notified by email by 18th November 2026. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 48 hours of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and choose a replacement winner at random.
5.3. The winner’s first name and county will be available on request after the draw.
6. Data Protection
6.1. Entering this competition adds you to the Present Tense newsletter, which you can unsubscribe from at any time using the link in any email. Your information will be held by the Promoter and used to administer the competition and send the newsletter.
6.2. Entrants’ details will not be shared with Otters Holt or any other third party, except that the winner’s name and contact details will be passed to Otters Holt to arrange their stay.
7. Liability
7.1. The Promoter and Otters Holt accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.
8. Governing Law
8.1. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law.
