Your space could be someone’s turning point.
I built Present Tense because I needed it.
Hi, I’m Rebecca. A few years ago I found myself losing the thread of who I was. My mind had become a place I couldn't rest in, and I needed somewhere completely removed from my life to try and think clearly again.
What I discovered was how much our surroundings affect us. The right space that’s balanced, considered and immersed in nature, did something that nothing else could: It gave me room to breathe and find my way back to myself. I've made it a habit ever since.
But finding the right place was harder than it should have been. It took hours of research and I still got it wrong sometimes. There were plenty of places that looked beautiful but felt wrong, listed in ways that told you nothing about how they'd actually make you feel.
So I built the thing I was looking for. A curated collection of spaces chosen not for how they photograph, but for how they hold you when you need it most.
I'm aware that Present Tense is new, and that listing with a platform that hasn't launched yet requires a leap of faith. So I want to be transparent about who I am and why I believe this will work.
I have a first class degree in Advertising and have worked in the industry for almost a decade. I built a luxury food business to six figures and over 100k followers from scratch, and in more recent years I've worked in luxury travel across design and content marketing. I also have a qualification in interior design, which means I look at spaces differently to most.
But honestly, the most important thing isn't the credentials. It's that I built this because I genuinely believe in what these spaces can do for people. That's not something you can fake, and it's what will make Present Tense worth finding.
The vision for Present Tense is bigger than a listing platform.
In time, I want to develop physical self development tools that guests can use during their stays. Things like journals, guides, frameworks for reflection. Things that turn a few days away into something more intentional. I'm also planning to partner with therapists and coaches to make that possible, so that a stay through Present Tense can become a genuinely transformative experience rather than just a beautiful place to sleep.
The properties on this platform won't just be somewhere to stay. They'll be part of something people come back to, again and again, because it gave them something they couldn't find anywhere else.
Listing with Present Tense is free.
When a guest books your property through our platform, we take a small affiliate commission of 15%. That's less than most booking platforms charge, and unlike them, we're bringing you an audience that has specifically chosen to be here. These aren't accidental bookings from people scrolling through hundreds of options. They're people who found Present Tense because they were looking for exactly what you offer.
We're also passionate about how this platform looks and feels, so we'd love to come to your property and create our own content for the site and our social channels. We'll always make arrangements with you beforehand, and if you'd like to use the content yourself, we're happy to discuss that too.
Present Tense is a curated platform and we don't list every property we're approached by.
We have specific criteria around stillness, nature, water and considered design, and before listing any property we'd want to visit in person to make sure it's the right fit. This isn't about being difficult, it's about making sure that every property on Present Tense genuinely delivers on the promise we make to our guests.
If you think your property could be right for us, we'd love to hear from you. Tell us a little about your space and we'll take it from there.
