Set on a family-run estate in the hills above Amarante, Portugal, ten minutes from the town but a world away from it, this is a house built for being together.
It's somewhere a group can find its own rhythm. Some can take coffee by the water while the house still sleeps, the afternoons can stretch long over the pool, and the evenings gather everyone around the firepit as the light goes down over the vines. Space to be quiet, and space to be together - which is really what a good gathering needs.

The House
Four spacious en-suite bedrooms mean everyone has their own retreat to return to, with room for up to eight adults and three children. Downstairs there's a generous dining room and kitchen made for long, slow meals, a living room with a wood-pellet fire, and a games room for when the younger ones (or the competitive ones) need something to do. Upstairs, three further bedrooms open out over the estate, so you wake to nothing but vines and sky.
The Setting
The house sits in the middle of a family-run vineyard, where greenery is everywhere and the quiet is broken only by the sounds of nature. A saltwater pool and wide veranda look out over the vines, and a pond with a small waterfall is the place to read, or do nothing at all. You're free to wander the estate itself, and the historic centre of Amarante, with its old stone bridge and riverside cafés, is just ten minutes away when you want a change of pace.
